Sonnet 2: The Great Divide
Off into my sweet sleep I lightly float
and lay beside the gossamer divine
then stretch my legs along our pillow boat
and lie remote while our two hearts align
My eyes wish only on thy face to dine
that vis which months have passed since I've last seen
Yet only can my lonely soul resign
to solitary views which intervene
with daily function and mundane routine
I break, and all at once my heart is in
that place where my thoughts shoot t'ward the obscene
and my brain swings to my own soul's true twin
One day beside each other we'll reside
and cross that no man's land, the great divide
